While i disagree with much of what T2 does, the new dev team seems both competent and enthusiastic, and much more transparent than Squad ever was. T2 said fuck it and built a new studio specifically for KSP 2, leaving KSP 1 still in the hands of Squad. Squad didn't want to put as much effort into KSP and instead focused on their commercial software (Which they've really always done, KSP could have become so much better if they realized that it was their golden goose instead of re-routing key team members to other projects, integrating mods into the base game or freelancing mod creators to do it for them and spending the bare minimum on it) They still kept developing KSP 1 on their own, however. Squad sold the game rights to T2 a while back, before the KSP 1 DLCs IIRC. It was more like what happened to Halo, where Bungie pulled out from Microsoft and Microsoft created 343 Industries to continue Halo, because Microsoft owns the rights to Halo.
